Fall Equinox Circle for Akikodjiwan – 23 September
Everyone is welcome to this circle on Victoria Island, part of Akikodjiwan. Algonquin Anishinabe protocol will be followed. This will be the kind of ceremony indigenous people used to hold at this sacred place. This is not about getting lots of people out, or about getting media attention (although respectful media coverage is welcome). It is about reclaiming sacred Akikodjiwan for ceremony. The healing circle is an opportunity to heal ourselves, tend our community and relationships, and heal our connection with the lands and waters that are at risk of being further lost to us.
Note the circle will take place rain or shine, so please dress accordingly. Please also bring your own chair and water. The optional potluck after the circle will be moved indoors, if needed. For the potluck, please bring a Feast Bundle (your own dishes and utensils), if possible.
When: 23 September from 3:30 – 5:30 pm.
Optional potluck feast at 5:30 pm. Please know the ingredients of your contribution, and consider bringing local food to share.
Where: Victoria Island, near the Peace Tree.
