Full text of Akikodjiwan resolution that Chiefs’ Assembly will consider

Resolution #7 having to do with Protection of Algonquin Sacred Waterfalls Area: Akikodjiwan Kitchi Zibi will be presented at the AFN Special Chiefs’ Assembly that opened this morning in Gatineau, Quebec.
Full text of the 4-page draft resolution (PDF will load) is expected to come before the chiefs’ assembly on Thursday.
Based on articles from the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, which the new federal government has promised to adopt, the resolution calls on the AFN’s National Chief to communicate the intent of the resolution, if approved, to the governments of Canada, Ontario, Quebec, Ottawa, Gatineau, the National Capital Commission and Windmill Development Group.
