Rally to protect the Akikodjiwan Falls and Islands and Voice our opposition to the “Zibi” project

February 26, 2016

For the Protection of the Akikodjiwan Falls and Islands (Chaudière Falls and Islands) and to Voice our opposition to the “Zibi” project,

please join Chochoakine Nika (Mother Earth Goose) and ANORW ( Anishnabe Nation of the Ottawa River Watershed) and allies in a Peaceful Rally from Victoria Island to The Parliament buildings this upcoming Sunday, February 28, from 1 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.

As you enter Victoria Island from the Chaudière Bridge (Rue Eddy) there will be large signs directing you to the gathering point on the island. The event starts at 1 P.M. so come early and dress for the weather!

We have coordinated with local police, we have tons of postcards to sign and deliver to MP’s, a nice program that includes speeches from Anishnabe elders, music performances and a giant goose for family fun! We will also have food and hot cedar tea. Bring drums, shakers and singing voices.

This fun march is social activism done in a good way! Hope to see you and yours there.

Migwech!/ Thank-you!
